Formatting is the process of preparing a drive for use. You can format a new hard drive, USB device, Memory card and other storage devices. You can still reformat any of these devices after using them for some time. When you reformat any drive knowingly or unknowingly, all the files in it are wiped off. However, you can still recover the files by following these tips discussed below.

• Stop using the drive
Once you discover you formatted a drive by mistake, you have to stop using it for saving any other file. In most cases, the lost files will be overwritten when you use the drive to save new files. You can only recover the lost files if the drive is not used for saving new files.

• Don't reformat the drive again
You shouldn't reformat the drive again once you notice you still need to recover the lost files. The recovery process can be very difficult when you reformat the drive for a second time. You should rather keep it and take the next step.

• Download and install a good Data Recovery Software
You can only recover lost files from any drive when you have quality data recovery software in your system. You need to download the best software from a reliable on-line vendor. In most cases, quality software programs do come with valid license keys. You have to pay for the license key before you can use any of them. You should desist from using free software programs that require no license keys. Majority of them are nothing but malicious spywares. Once you download good recovery software, you have to install it accordingly. You simply follow the on-screen instruction to install the program.

• Connect the Drive
After installing the data recovery software, you have to connect the drive from where the files are deleted to your system. Once this is done, you have to run the software. It will detect the particular drive. You'll then go ahead to scan the drive with the software. At the end of the scan, the deleted files will be displayed. The software can restore them back to their former positions if they are deleted from a hard drive. In the same vein, the deleted files will be recovered if they are deleted from a USB device or Memory card. You have to create a folder on the system where the files will be restored to. You can then go ahead to reformat the drive before copying back the restored files into it.

In all, you have to exercise caution when running the data recovery process. You may have to back up your sensitive system's files and documents before you run the data recovery software.

Data Recovery Software is an easy-to-use program that can effectively recover deleted or lost data, photos, music, video, and multimedia files from your system and all digital cards.
